“A promise must never be broken”

I agree with this statement by Alexander Hamilton, the president on the ten dollar bill, this quote says that you can never break your word. I believe this to be true, one can never break their word. For example if you say you're going to a friends house to study and you will be home at 4:30 but you don't go until 6:30, then you broke your word. If you do not keep your word then it will mean nothing . It sometimes is hard to keep a promise but when you know you cannot complete the promise then you must say that. You cannot say something you do not mean. A promise is a promise and your word. When you promise someone something then they are relying on you to complete the task you said you would do. If you fail to keep your promise then not only did you lie to your friend but it is most likely that you broke the bond you two had between each other. You gave your word yet you did not do what you promised you would. If you lie then no one will know when you tell the truth. You will no longer be trustworthy and for that reason you will not be liked. The only way to avoid all that from happening is simple, just keep your word. If you keep the promises you make then no one will have a doubt in their minds about you. That is why it is always important to remember a promise must never be broken.
