“Character is higher than intellect.”

This quote tells you what is more important than the knowledge you posses. Character is very important to have it doesn't matter if you are not the brightest but if you have character you will strive. If you truly have character it will show in the work you produce. If you are a responsible person you will strive to get the intellect you deserve. Having character is more important because it shows you posses good qualities. Such as loyalty, honesty , respectfulness, and responsibility. Intellect will not give you all those qualities only your character will. To make the right decisions in life you must have character. If you have character you will always choose the right thing to do.  For example if you have character you might be chosen out of a group and be recruited into a basketball team or whatever sport you may play. If the whole team is talented some maybe even more than you but they don't have character they will not be chosen. If the coach sees you're talented and have good character then no one will compare to you.
